Artists Rules of Entry:

Festival International de Arte Marbella invites artists to be an exhibitor at the first annual FIAM show. The festival will be held for three days and one evening with a special VIP cocktail party. Each artist will have their own "gallery tent" in which to exhibit. The show will be juried by a panel of experts where they will chose the best artists, spaces are limited. With the help of the Office de Turismo de Marbella the festival will be published in newspapers, magazines, and on radio and television. Banners and posters will be placed on the main street--Ricardo Soriano. Hotels and Tour agents from here and abroad, will be notified about this fantastic event. There will be music and theatrical performances in addition to the art.
The festival will provide a unique opportunity for visitors to interact with and purchase directly from the artists. Fiam wil involve the talent from our international community and give many an oppertunity to perform during the show. Artists will be charged no commission. The show will be held in the Alemeda & Paseo Martimo in Marbella.(can put link to map)

Fees Due in Full: Abril l5, 2009
Last Day to Cancel: May 20th, last day to cancel and get deposit back only if tent can be reallocated.

Artists will be provided with one tent that is 3m x 3 m and must display their work within the boundaries of the tent. Tents will be randomly assigned. Artists must provide their own display, display racks and any tent support materials. Artists may share a space at and additional cost of 50 euro’s.

Prizes: 1st, 2nd, 3rd as well as company prizes, see website for details.

 

Submission: E-mail four images of your work with the largest dimension being no bigger than 800 pixels. (Large files will be rejected) You may send one additional “close-up” no bigger that 800 pixels. Images must have your name and be numbered. Ex. Pablopicasso1.jpg, pablopicasso2.jpg, palbopicasso3.jpg,pablopicasso4.jpg. You can resize you photos in Photoshop, Photoshop Elements or one of the free image converters below:

Set-Up & Break-down:
Check-in will begin on Thursday, in shifts, and must be completed by 6:30 PM with the cocktail party starting at 7:30. Tents will be randomly assigned.
You can park in the underground parking just below the Alemeda, in Calle Makintosh. You will be notified where you can park longer term.
Break Down will be after 7PM Sunday June 21

Artist Regulations:
Exhibiting artists must be l8 years or older and must be present during show hours. Volunteers may give artists breaks during the festival.
All work shown must be original work, however reproductions of the artists own work is allowed if in limited editions of 250 or less, signed and numbered.
Work made from commercial molds, kits patterns or copyrighted designs are not allowed. All work must be for sale and no reproductions (including prints) are allowed.

Sales:
The exhibitor must handle all sales and all proceeds go to the artists. You will be responsible for your own IVA.

Security:
Security will be provided during the nights of the exhibition. You are responsible for your tent during the day.

 

Types of Work:

Painting in Oils, acrylics, watercolors, gouache, pastels or mixed media will be accepted.
Photography—Photographic prints made from the artist’s original negative or digital image processing, and which have been processed by that artist, or under his or her direct supervision, are included in this category. Works must be limited editions, under 250, signed and numbered on archival quality materials.
Sculpture—in any media, clay, bronze, wood, paper, wood or metal
Ceramics—must be hand made and sculptural in nature
Fiber Art—Wall hangings, quilts, rugs made by hand.
Glass Art—Hand blown original pieces.
Printmaking—Work where the artists has manipulated the plates, stones or screens and which have been properly signed and numbered as a limited edition, may be entered in this category. 2D mixed Media—Work that is two-dimensional and the primary intention of the work is the union of two or more media
Digital Art— Art that is digitally enhanced including photography, painting, drawing, etc. Art must be comprised of a minimum of 90% original work made by the applying artist. All Photos used and enhanced digitally must have been taken or created by the artist.
Work must be signed and in a limited edition.

 

ALL WORK MUST BE ORIGINAL TO THE ARTIST; NO BUY-SELL OR MASS PRODUCTION IS ALLOWED IN ANY CATEGORY AND MUST BE SIMILAR TO THE IMAGES SENT IN.
